Challenge 1

The first challenge!!

My first challenge is going to be a colour challenge, I love to mix unusual colours and get so inspired by seeing just the right colour ink or paint, I obsessively collect paint charts from DIY stores and cut them up to make my own combinations. So my challenge is to make your project using these colours as your main colours (you can add small bits of accent colour if you want to) - Steel Grey, Petrol Blue and a lovely Sagey / Olivey Green.

The Design Team will be uploading their work here as inspiration for you over the next few days. You have until midnight on Sunday 1st August to post your links in the comments, the winner will be announced on 4th August.

Thanks for playing!

a little owl book mark

Hiya guys well i must be honest i really struggled with this one but i think i've cracked it. I decided to make myself a bookmark, (i normally use a piece of paper) this is so much nicer.
I printed off the owl digi stamps and coloured them with my pro markers one in each of the 3 colours of the challenge this week the background paper you can just about see are also from the woodland whimsies cd, i also tryed deb's tip of using the blender pen to create an effect of feathers(thanks deb x) that's it for now don't forget to check my blog to see if you won a prize from the weekend blog bop.

Get Well Soon

Teri has asked me to post her challenge card as she is off to teach for a few days at the CK Scrapbook Convention.

I love her interpretation of the colours, she has used the Navy Floral background from Woodland Whimsies 2 and a strip of the green stars background with one of the circle greetings.

Challenge 1 - Owl Card

well as this was my challenge and these are my favourite colours currently (apart from Purple which is my constant favourite colour) I found this to be a fun challenge - probably because I already had something in mind!

So here is my card....

I've used the cream Honeycomb paper from Woodland Whimsies 2 which I've distressed with olive green ink, the Owls are my Digi Stamps which I coloured with Promarkers in the ice grey shades using the blender pen to add texture (thanks for the tip Debs!) and the gold for the beak and claws (are they claws? I'm not too good at animal stuff, I told my little sisters that some goats were sheep once, my mum was NOT pleased - I'll probably get told off for this if I'm wrong too! LOL)

The button was punched out using my 1.5" circle punch (from the Butterfly collection on Woodland Whimsies) and added glossy accents for some dimension - the greeting is also from Woodland Whimsies. I made my own card blank from Prism cardstock in one of my fave shades.

Blog Hop winners will be posted tomorrow - woo!

This is my wee take on the colour challenge, a hard one! As I don't have the disks yet I tried to match the colours as best I could! Instead of a card I went for a wee scrappage instead! Just to give you the idea that you don't need to used Sarah disks for cards!

Lisa's DT card - challenge 1

Hello and here is my DT card for challenge 1 using the fabulous colour combination chosen by Sarah. I used the squirrel digi image from CD2 and also altered the colours in one of the papers using Windows Paint to tie in with the theme. I added a satin ribbon and punched flowers along with a sentiment from the CD.

Challenge 1

I made a chevron style card. Using the steel grey and Sagey / Olivey Green I made a background of Sky and Grass. I then used the rabbit digi stamp from Woodland Whimsies and coloured him in using the petrol blue promaker, cut him out and detached him on the card, using a paper springy, so he can hop about it!!!. I then printed another rabbit onto shrink plastic, also coloured him with the petrol blue, and made a little necklace, which I also detached on to the card as a gift. I also printed the hot air balloons, and coloured one in petrol blue, and the other in sky blue promakers. I I used petrol blue and silver gems to jazz the chevrons up, And inserted some mirror board inside. So you can see the mirror board through the chevrons.
